Resilient Households and Communities
This pillar integrates livelihoods, food security, and disaster risk reduction (DRR) to strengthen household resilience and community preparedness. It aligns with SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) so that vulnerable households can withstand shocks and build sustainable futures. By targeting refugee-hosting districts and disaster-prone regions, the pillar promotes financial inclusion, climate-smart agriculture, and community-led disaster preparedness. It recognizes that resilience is multidimensional encompassing economic stability, food security, and the ability to adapt to environmental and social challenges and positions households as the foundation of community strength.
Our Livelihood support approaches include the following;
Livelihoods support through vocational training and enterprise developmentVSLA/SILC Methodologies
Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) and financial inclusion initiatives
Food security interventions guided by the Household Food Insecurity Access Scale (HFIAS)
Disaster preparedness and early warning systems integrated into district planning
