May 2025 marked a special milestone for TPO Uganda — one year since Mr. Peter Okwi assumed the role of Country Director. What began as a leadership transition quickly blossomed into a transformative journey, not just for Peter, but for the entire TPO family.
To celebrate this moment, staff gathered in a room filled with warmth, laughter, and shared memories. It wasn’t just about the cake — though there was plenty — but about pausing to reflect on a year defined by resilience, purpose, and a deepened sense of community. Under Peter’s stewardship, TPO Uganda has seen notable strides. These include:
The commemoration of TPO Uganda’s 30-year anniversary, a proud moment that honoured our journey and reaffirmed our mission.
Revival of the TPO Resource Centre, now a vibrant hub of learning and institutional memory.
Formalization of ACENET, a microfinance arm created to expand livelihood support under TPO Uganda’s thematic areas — a bold step toward continuity and long-term sustainability.
Enhanced donor engagement, fostering deeper partnerships and strategic collaboration that continue to fuel our impact.
