Mental Health and Wellbeing

This pillar builds on TPO Uganda’s three decades of leadership in mental health programming and positions the organization as a national and regional reference point for community-based psychosocial care. Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing) and Uganda’s National Development Plan priorities, it emphasizes expanding access to quality Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services across diverse settings. From refugee-hosting and non-refugee communities to disaster-prone areas, schools, prisons, workplaces, and digital platforms, the pillar ensures that individuals and families receive layered, culturally relevant support that strengthens coping, restores dignity, and promotes long-term wellbeing.

Progress

- Over 553,000 individuals reached with MHPSS services - 82% of clients reported improved social functioning- - 74% of supported CSOs delivered quality services Future Direction Strengthen research and documentation, expand digital mental health tools, and influence regional/global mental health agendas.
