TPO Uganda celebrates African Children – June 16th
TPO Uganda commemorated the Day of the African Child at the different field locations. As part of the activities, TPO Uganda field-based team led by the Psychiatric Clinical Officer in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement, Ms. Florence Namyalo, equipped teachers with skills on first aid and recovery for epileptic children. The training empowers teachers and child care givers to manage seizures and refer children who need specialized help to TPO Uganda. This creates an epilepsy stigma-free environment whilst maintaining more children in school as epilepsy remains one of the major barriers to education in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement.
