TPO Uganda is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that has been delivering services to vulnerable communities in Uganda since 1994. TPO Uganda has been committed to empowering communities affected by armed conflict and other natural and manmade disasters to meet the protection needs, psychosocial, mental health wellbeing and to improve livelihoods. TPO Uganda has over the years grown into a respectable national NGO with a demonstrable track record in over 55 districts as at January 2023. TPO is currently operating in the regions of Acholi, Lango, Teso, Karamoja, sub regions, Rwenzori, Southwest, West Nile, and central region. The organisation works with both in the Humanitarian and in the development settings (refugee hosting and non-refugee hosting) districts in Uganda
This role is responsible for routine financial accounting functions including tracking accountability and
supervision of day-to-day operations. The role supports the Finance Manager in implementing effective and efficient financial controls within the context of the country's strategy as well as the finance team's objectives, financial regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures. The position holder will also be expected to prepare and present reports as per TPO reporting guidelines and schedule.
Person Specifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business, Finance, or a relevant field from a recognized university
- Part professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIA, or CFA - Level II.
- PGD in a relevant field added advantage.
- At least Three years relevant working experience in a multi-donor, or if in the private sector experience managing income from multiple sources of which two years should be USAID grant
- Quality and relevant experience in finance and accountancy in a major organization
- IT Literate and excellent knowledge and skills in using computer based accounting systems and Microsoft excel and word packages
- Knowledge and Experience in the interpretation of Donor conditions.
- Knowledge of government policies and regulations on financial management and taxation
- Knowledge of Audit report preparation
