1. Position:

Clinical Psychologist

Reports to:

over role supervisor – MHPSS Supervisor with dotted line to Project Coordinator as line supervisor

Location:

South West region (1person)

Job Purpose
The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for supervising Social Workers, establishing a case management system, assessment tool and case management repository for the project. Mainstream PSS & clinical protection into all projects activities and build resource materials for MHPSS. Training Social Workers and Community Support Structures on MHPSS and provide support supervision, consultation, and mentoring, provide specialized clinical care to beneficiaries, support Social Workers manage difficult MHPSS cases and support run Cognitive Behavioural Therapy sessions, Psychological first Aid, problem management Plus as well as social therapy sessions. Conduct quarterly review meetings with community support structure members (Crisis team members, VPAs) to review progress, challenges and developing actions to improve psychosocial work in the settlements. 

Responsibilities Related to project implementation
✓ Clinical Supervision: The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for supervising Social Workers by providing guidance throughout the implementation of the Project MHPSS intervention approach.
✓ case management system, build up case management repository for the project in accordance to the standard case management principles and TPO Uganda case management process
✓ Assessment and diagnosis; provide guidance towards the use of the various global and internal assessment tools in relation to the project need and guide on intervention approach in accordance to diagnosis.
✓ Mainstream PSS into all projects activities and build resource materials for MHPSS adaptable to the project according to the project theory of change.
✓ Capacity strengthening and enhancement; Training Social Workers, partners and Community Support Structures on MHPSS, mhGAP HIG, PFA and any other skills as required by project objectives and arising needs during implementation provide support supervision, consultation, and mentoring, provide specialized clinical care to beneficiaries, support Social Workers manage difficult MHPSS cases and support run Cognitive Behavioural Therapy sessions, Psychological first Aid, problem management Plus as well as social therapy sessions.

Person Specifications knowledge and experience
Master’s in clinical psychology, Knowledge in therapeutic remedies, making mental health assessments, IASC guidelines; advocacy theories and principles; and Excellent organization and coordination skills, must be result-oriented and Working experience in the civil society sector; At least 2 years progressive experience in the humanitarian setting.

2. Position:

Psychiatric Clinical Officer

Reports to:

over role supervisor – MHPSS Supervisor with dotted line to Project Coordinator as line supervisor

Location:

South West region (2persons)

Job Purpose
The overall purpose of the position is to provide technical support to the project team in management of MHPSS while providing pharmacology treatment and management to beneficiaries during the project implementation, support training programmes for the project implementation team on MHPSS assessments and management, responsible for dispensing drugs, and advise on drugs to be procured in accordance to need. The position will be a field based and an integral part of project delivery unit, providing overall monitoring and pharmacological treatment during the project implementation. 

Responsibilities Related to project implementation.
✓ The Psychiatric Clinical Officers will work alongside the Clinical Psychologists to provide specialized MHPSS services including pharmacological treatment for severe MHPSS cases, they will support to conduct mobile mental health outreaches clinics, while working with the established health centres and hospitals within the project scope/locations. 
Person Specifications:
Degree in Clinical Psychiatry, Knowledge in therapeutic remedies, making mental health assessments, IASC guidelines; advocacy theories and principles; and Excellent organization and coordination skills, Must be result-oriented and Working experience in the civil society sector; At least 2 years progressive experience in the humanitarian setting. 

3. Position:

 

Social Workers

Reporting to:

Project Coordinator as overall supervisor and clinical supervisor by Clinical Psychologist

Location:

West Nile region and South West region (21persons)

Job Purpose
To ensure delivery of services that aim at empowering communities to reduce social strife and contribute to sustainable development of identified groups, individuals, and families.
Responsibilities Related to project implementation
Plan and Implement project activities that contribute to the attainment of project objectives and outputs.
✓ Support Conduct Psycho education and social therapy interventions to refugees and host communities experiencing psychological distress yearly.
✓ Provide psychosocial support to refugees and asylum seekers using Problem Management Plus (PM+) approach for individuals with mild psychosocial problems.
✓ Provide Psychological First Aid to beneficiaries to reduce the initial distress caused by traumatic events and to foster short- and long-term adaptive functioning and coping.
✓ Identify beneficiaries that require specialized care and support to conduct case management with supervision of the Clinical Psychologist. that need the project assistance and providing referral pathways. 
Person Specifications:
Degree in Social Work and Social administration (SWASA) and other related Social Work courses. Additional trainings in community psychology, counselling is an added advantage. Must have at least 2-3 years’ experience working in NGO environment. Ability to ride a motorcycle with valid riding permit.
