TPO Uganda Deputy Country Director Joins the CHS Alliance Board

We are pleased to announce that our Deputy Country Director Rehema Kajungu was last week elected as one of the 4 representatives of the full CHS Alliance Members to serve on its global board.

The Core Humanitarian Standard is a global alliance of humanitarian and development organisations that are committed to making aid work better for people by supporting NGOs adopt and adhere to the highest standards of accountability and ethical conduct. It provides certification to NGOs that meet these standards and it has become the benchmark for NGOs globally.

In her eligibility statement, Ms. Kajungu reiterated the importance of the Alliance to engage with and increase the number of southern NGOs that are supported to strengthen their accountability mechanisms and acquire minimum standards of governance and accountability. Ms.Kajungu possesses over 20 years of demonstrable senior level experience in NGO management and has worked for TPO Uganda for 15 years. Prior to this, she was a senior Program Administrator with the EU micro projects in the early 2000s’. She is also leading TPO Uganda’s process of acquiring CHS certification
